mounting guns and turrets

FREELANCER -
I cannot seem to mount the looted guns/turrets in my hard points - double left clicking on the unmounted guns/turrets had worked in my equipment dealer dialogue - interface box . But it didnt after that, so the only way i can mount my own loot is selling it to the dealer and buying it back (it gets automatically mounted in the empty hard point)

ANY BODY OUT THERE WHO COULD GIVE any SUGGESTIONS ON THIS ...would be prufusely thanked..

You have to unmount the current guns to swap with new ones. Also, the new guns have to be rated the same or less than the mounts. No level 8 guns can be mounted on level 7 max mounts.

thanks for the reply, yes i have been taking care about trying to mount higher class guns but how to unmount the guns - by selling them to the equipment dealer? or by left / right clicking on the mounted icon in the inventory - window - I will go back home and try that - but i doubt if unmounting them would be that easy. Meanwhile yesterday I got hold of some CODENAME weapons from the old imperial fighter, and was much delighted - but they are all class ten , have sold most of them off except two - iron hammers - for sentimental reasons

There is a little puzzle box on each wep. Click on it to istall or uninstall. If there i no box, its rating is too high. Always unmount to allow space so you can mout the new wep.
