check your firewall settings, I'm pretty sure that's it.
I have that all the time when I use a new mod. Freelancer switches to the serverlist (list with all the servers) and then freezes. In the top right corner you see:
Disconnected from Global Server. No Internet Servers Available
or something similar.
Try ALT+TAB to switch to desktop, or the windows key between your ctrl and alt key.
If that doesn't work then you have to reboot your computer.
After rebooting, start up Freelancer again and click the Multiplayer connection. Select first Yes and then Internet and right before the serverlist apears hit ALT+TAB or hit teh windows key. If you time it right you will switch to desktop and you will see the Firewall message popping up, asking you what to do. Make sure you select always grant access to internet or you will have to keep doing this.
An alternative way is to check the list of approved programs in you firewall settings and see if freelancer is in there. If it is and it's listed as
forbidden , or something along those lines, try to chance it to
granted , or something along those lines. If that doesn't work, for whatever reason, remove freelancer from that list and manually add it to the list.
this is all assuming it is your firewall that's blocking you, but the way it sounds it probably is.
I hope you get it sorted out because Multiplay (MP) is a lot of fun.
