Realistic Asteroid Belt

I found a thread on rotation bases and stuff and though we could make a rotating asteroid belt.

I need to know everything about this so i can make it into a mod with Blackwolf

-Does the axis sit in the middle of the moddle or do we make a hardpoint.
-How do i make it rotate.
-What do we modify on the moddles to get the center axis.

well, you cannot make the whole belt rotate like an object, because it is a zone; the spin entry does not work. However, I have successfully built a dynamic asteroid field with moving and rotating asteroids. I will maybe release a Proof of Concept mod for this if I have the time, but it will surely be included in my Solar System TC.

And what if you make an whole asteroid belt as a cmp file and make this rotating?

That'd be a massive number of polygons. Not only that, but it would need a custom SUR file to work, which we don't know how to make...
