Time for Neuromancer''s 2005 Fan Fiction Awards!!!

Seeing as how we have reached the end of another year, I thought it might be appropriate to honor some of the great fan fiction written during 2005.

It seems to me that there wasn't as much written this year as there was last year, but what came out this year was nothing to spit at. Great storylines, memorable villains---it's all here.

I've decided on several categories for the awards, listed below:

Best Villain
Best storyline
Best fan fiction "WTF?" moment

and the coup de gras:

Best overall fan fiction

Feel free to nominate fan fiction on this thread. Be sure to name the fan fiction, author, and category you are nominating for in your post. I'll tally them up and post the results at the beginning of the year. If you're a writer, feel free to nominate yourself---nothing wrong with a little self-promotion.

Oh, one other thing---If you'd like to add another category to the list, feel free to do so.

See you on the red carpet!

If you only learn one thing in Freelancer, let it be this, do not piss off someone who is much better, or has a much higher level than you.

Athena's A Freelancer Story- Nominated for best overall.

(Sorry Athena, but I still haven't gotten around to finish reading it, but what I have read of it was simply amazing.)

And I apologize, but the only ones I've really read were pSYCHO's Freelancer-After The Nomads (He re-vamped it again earlier this year only to pull a Killa and not give a bloody update.) I've read Genocide (Great, but not up to Neuro's other works) I've read Bret's new one (can't remember title for the life of me) and I've read Athena's. Really, only three people's stories. Neuro, Bret, and Athena. I wish I could nominate them all, but if I had to pick one (which it looks like I do) then, Bret and Neuro, don't take this personally, but I'd have to go with Athena's. They all were good, and it was a tough call in the end, but only Athena's had the impact on me it did, it enspired me to give one update pn my story before I dissapered for about a month.

And, I don't really think I've written anything this year worthy of nomination. If I can make The Holocaust as good as I want to, then I may be looking at a 2006 nomination. Other than that, I can't think of anything else to say. So, goodbye, and hope you win Athena.

Best Freelancer SP Continuation - A Freelancer Story (*)
Most Action-Packed Fanfic - The Roslin Protocol

Thanks Rioteer! Which cliffhanger are you talking about?

Mostly the one with Jan pointing a projectile pistol at Paulo, although the one when he is captured by a Bounty Hunter is good too...

Happy New Year everyone!

A new year, brings a new chapter to our lives. I wish you all a very healthy, wealthy, prosperous and fun-filled year

I'm honoured and very appreciative of the comments regarding my story. I do apologise for I've been extremely busy in my Real Life and finding time to sit down to spend quality time has been limited at best and occasionalyl browsing forums at worst.

Anyway, I do want to continue the story where it left off. Code I know you sent me a note over the christmas break, please feel free to carry on and don't let my temporary absence stall the flow of your creative genius *hug*.

Okay. Back to work. I wish the TLR community well and hope to spend more time on these boards.

Ps: I was given the Battlestar Galactica mini-series DVD's for a christmas gift and wow! It's amazing. Apollo is lush too

Hmm.
Well, for best "WTF" moment, I nominate "A Freelancer Parody"! Chupa's maybe goes in second place. Think this ought to be changed to maybe "2006 Fan Fics Awards Awarding Fan Fics From 2005"? Nah, that's waaay to stupid...

I am defcon pilot, watch me nuke!

I'd agree that Starman Omega's Freelancer Parody deserves an award of somekind, for finally taking a different approach on top of the fabulous writing. It could also be named best cliffhanger due to infrequent updates....
