Freelancer Revelations (warning spoilers)

Criticism is welcome but keep in mind this is my first fanfic. The idea is this:

"The common belief is that the Corsairs and the Outcasts are all that's left of the Hispania, the 5th sleeper ship. Or are they. There is an awful lot of unexplored space out there, and it is about to reveal a secret that has been kept for almost 800 years. "

I'm going to be busy for awhile but I will try to get the first chapter out ASAP. I probably won't be able to make much progress beyond that until after Christmas.

"In space no one can hear you scream" --- Unknown

Prelude

It has been been 50 years since the nomad incursion. 50 long quiet years. The Osiris dissappeared on a routine patrol near Sigma 19 a few weeks after the first skirmishes began, along with her entire crew, including Orillion, Trent, and Juni. That same day all nomad activities also ceased and no sightings have been reported since. With no nomad threat, and most of the those who knew about it gone, the houses decided not to reveal the truth and have been quitely maintaining a cover up. 50 years later a nomad is once again nothing more than a roaming desert dweller on a camel. That quiet is about to be broken.

Chapter 1.
Corsairs Intelligence Headquarters, Planet Crete

"This is the The Colony News Network. All the news that fit to report.

Our top story today, The International Miners Guild reports that all contact has been lost with their exploration team attempting to penetrate the Barrier near Sigma 19. While ships have been know to become lost in this dangerous area, reports indicate that during the past 4 months the number of missing persons last spotted in this reigon has increased almost 450%. Authorities are unable to account for the sudden upsurge. We will keep you posted as details come in.

In other new tonight..."

The door to Agent Cortez's Office suddenly burst open. One of his senior officers entered carrying a large folder.
"Sir, the analysis on that message capsule we picked up a few weeks ago is finished."
Agent Cortez switched of the neural tranciever. The officer handed him the folder, sealed with tamper evident tape.
"This is incredible! Have they managed to determine its origin?"
"Not yet, however tests indicate that it came from the Kusari reigon, probably from somewhere in the Sigmas."
"So it isn't from the Outcasts then."
"No, not likely."
"In that case we have a very serious problem"

I will try to get chapter 2 done by christmas.

Thanks. I'm still not 100% sure where I'm going with this yet so the first few chapters will be fairly short.

DeathSpike, you messes with a Magic: The Gathering card for that quote. it goes like this,"I like goblins, they make funny little popping sounds when they die." My friend plays Magic and I saw his cards.
