here is the first lil bit
Chapter one of humanitys edge:
“Hello this is liberty news, I am Sean Rogers tonight as I bring you a shocking report on terrorism. Today Freeport 7 was attacked, there were no survivors. In further study…..”
6 weeks later….
Jack was walking in his office building, one of the 123,456 buildings that went so high that the broke the cloud barrier. Jack had fear of heights and was quite annoyed when he was asked to work in a corner at the top. In a corner were the walls were made of glass. Jack was writing a letter to his friend in the liberty navy who was fighting the ‘terrorists’ that supposedly hade more advanced ships that seemed alive
His Friend was off in Rhienland, were the primary defenses had fallen. The liberty navy had sent 1/3 of there ships there. The remaining Rhienland people were still in a riot because of the drafting. A problem liberty was soon to have to face.
The count down to drafting was on the upcoming Saturday. And currently jack noted, it was Friday. Jack was the type of person that would be drafted, he had logged 700 hours of space ship flying and was a well built person.
The fate of Kusari was unknown, all ships sent there lost radio contact after going through the jump holes and jump gates. And they never returned… the Siruis nation council had vetoed the idea of freeing or saving kusari. Bretonia was doing fine, many of its troops were in Rhienland, and it was the last house that the nomads would attack due to its location. It had collapsed all Jump gates and jump holes that did not lead to liberty or border worlds that did not lead to liberty. Many people in liberty were fleeing, but also lots were being detained until the draft was in full fledge.
Jack sipped his coffee, it was almost time to go home. He had sold his ‘car’ and space ship for need of money. The Siruis economy was collapsing and food prices were at a all time high. It was rumored that planet Pittsburgh has 3 massive battleships in orbit dumping chemicals into the planet trying to terraform it faster to feed the hungry people of siruis.
But there were further crisis, all civilian ships were grounded, and sometimes scrapped or used for the reserves. Jack had seen tons of riots on the news, of course jack and most people did not trust the news.
Jack walked out of the building, he was going home and getting a very long nights sleep. Tomorrow his life would change.
