TO OUTCAST 1-1:
I developed a formula that you could use for the battle during school today. Here is the long-winded version:
(I will use my force of 93 Warships as an example.)
Each warship has 2 'Capital Ship Lances' (Destroy Cap Ships in 1 shot)
186 shots per salvo = x (2 X 93)
Probability of hit- Close Range- 75% Mid Range- 50% Long Range- 25% = P
Formula- xP = # of shots that should hit = T
xP = T
Close- 186(.75) = T
139.5 = T round up
140 shots should hit at close range.
Mid- 186(.5) = T
Since we already know that 93 is 1/2 of 186, we can use that
93 = T
93 shots should hit at mid-range
Long- 186(.25) = T
Since 93 is 1/2 of 186, then 1/2 of 93 would work
1/2(93) = 46.5
46.5 = T round up
47 shots should hit at long range.
Complete Answer: In one salvo by the Warship fleet alone, then 140 shots should hit at short range, 93 shots should hit at mid-range, and 47 should hit at long range.
Dependencies: Chance, probabilities, enemy formation, enemy hull strength, and other forces and dependencies that could affect the outcome.
Now, I could write that out for all the fleets this weekend, and give that to you to help decide the battle. I could probably post my conclusions later tonight even. Hopefully this could help.
The Summit will be held tommorow!
