Chaos Theory Pt. 9: The Nomad's New Weapon
"What? Did I just hear you correctly?" Trent asked in astonishment. Kress just smiled and nodded. "Thanks to Dr. Quintane and Ms. Sinclair, we know a lot more about the artifact then we did before. As long as the body of the person who is deceased is able to support life, the artifact can be used to revive them. In my case, I was cut across the face with a samurai sword." He said, then looked at Trent sarcastically. Then continued, "I would have survived had I not bled to death on your floor. But the art-" "Woh woh woh, wait a minute. Did you say you would have survived?" Trent asked, interrupting Kress. He nodded and continued, " Yes Mr. Trent. I was killed by you, when I was infested with a Nomad that was. My body was cryogeniclly preserved, and prepared for an open-casket funeral. But when Dr. Quintane and Sinclair discovered the artifacts abilities, they used it to revive me."
Kress now looked over at Orillion, and then at Sinclair. Orillion was about to speak when a man wearing a uniform ran into the room. "Sir, the Nomads have tracked us down! They are heading this way, what are your orders?" The man asked franticly. Orillion thought for a second, then turned to him and said, "Take us to Faro. It's in Omicron Delta, should be on the Nav Map." He turned to Trent, "Looks like we will have to finish this conversation some other time." and walked out.
Trent walked down the corridor in a daze. He had watched Kress and Orillion die right in front of him, and now they were telling him that the artifact could be used to revive dead people. He stopped and thought for a moment. He thought about the possibility of using the artifact on Juni. Maybe there was still hope for her. He ran to the medical bay where Quintane and Sinclair were prepping to treat an injured crew-member. He was almost to the medical bay when the intercom boomed. "All crew members, prepare for jump in fifteen seconds. Secure yourselves and hang on to something." The voice sounded like Orillion's. But Trent didn't have time to think, because there was a sound like something was charging up, and the he was thrust down on the floor, then slid and hit his head on the wall. Then, darkness....
He awoke to see that he was in the medical bay, with Dr. Sinclair standing over him. She looked down and said, "You hit your head pretty hard there Mr. Trent." Trent groaned, then tried to sit up. He felt like someone had just hit him in the head with a sledgehammer, and the pain was not easing off at all.
After he had had the bandage on his head changed, he walked into the bridge. There he found Orillion and several other crew members working on the computers. "How bad is the interference? Will they be able to find us?" Orillion asked. "No sir, not as far as we can tell. But Nomad technology is so much more advanced then the last of it that we recovered." Orillion looked over at Trent and said, "There is a lot of electromagnetic interference from this star. If the Nomads don't find it, then the Isis could operate here." Trent thought about asking to use the artifact to revive Juni, but he was cut off when a crew man yelled, "We have to cloak now, the Nomads are on their way!" The man turned and looked at Orillion. "You don't need my approval to cloak when there are hostile aliens closing in on us!" He yelled.
The Battleship Isis cloaked and the Nomads jumped in. Although most people could only see a blue dot out in space, Trent could make out at least three Nomad Battleships. They fired a small blue beam into the star and jumped out again. Everyone on board the Isis was puzzled. "Sir, you have got to see this." A man said, sounding quite anxious. When Trent looked out of the window, he was thrown into shock. The star that the Isis was right next to only a few seconds earlier, was now a massive ball of ice.........

sorry that one was kind of short, but I did not have very much time today, and I wanted to put the next part up for all of you who are about to die from anticipation. I know how you feel without bret's and Neuromancer's stories, so I hope this will help take the edge off.

Sorry all, but I'm finally back!!!! After much frustration and virus and mother board deaths, I am finallyt back. The first time on the internet in close to a month, I just reciently found out that my mother board was dead. The computer I used before is at my uncle's house getting fixed. This is one I just got for christmas. I still need to get a spell check on this machine so if my spelling sucks for a while please try to ignore it.
And I didn't really like the direction I was taking my fanfic so I have decided to redo bot Captured and Chaos Theory. As to when I still don't know, and I will probably change the names. But for now I have to go and it is so good to be back, by the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY FINALDAY!!!
