Error when using DDS for character textures

I tried replacing the MIP0 to MIP8 entries of a dfm file by one single MIPS entry. However, what was before a working texture for the legs became this:

It looks like the UV mapping doesn't get the MIP maps right. I used the same settings Trent's DDS textures use (I retextured those, they work perfectly) and I do have confirmation that you can implement DDS without any further changes to the dfm file.

Does anyone know what went wrong here? I have no idea what the problem is and I am just about to commit suicide...

Did you remember to flip the texture? DDS and TGA are orientated differently with one being upside down to the other.

Right. After all this time working with DDS only, I forgot this difference between the two.

But the flipping thing is only necessary because FL kinda flips the tga, right? Because when I open up a tga and a dds of the same file with Photoshop, they are orientated the same.

Anyway, I'll let you know if it worked.

It worked.

Yet there is another problem. When I use the standard texture of the model I am working with, everything works fine, yet when I change the color of some parts of the texture, I get this really annoysing bug, that looks just like this:

If picture doesn't show, click here.

This happens using TGA or DDS alike. It even happens when I export the vanilla textures from vanilla dfm and import them into the new dfm unchanged ad unopened by any program. This leads me to believe the UTF editor somehow messes up things. Has anybody got any experience with that? This is now my second model to have this bug. But what's the strangest part of it is the fact two out of the model's three textures work perfectly.

Again, I ask for your help.

btw.. went to fix this and it wont display.. sorry but there seems to be a problem with the addy.. maybe it's just me.. but despite three goes ..no piccy.

Perhaps try something like this..

Nope, the image's there. I just checked it. Maybe the server was just temporarily offline? Does it work now? If not, does the link work?

it does now,

Probably the server was down, or the link may have been congested..

No ideas whatsoever?

I myself, judging by the aforementioned symptoms of the problem, think it's the UTF editor. Therefore I'll try importing the new images via the XML project when I'll have the time.

But any other idea (maybe something more easily done? ) would be great nonetheless.

I solved the problem by using the XML project to manually alter the files.
