Textures blur

Yes, here's something new. I have created a new ship and added it to the game. After I had exported it to CMP and created the Hardpoints in HardCMP, I first noticed the textures blurred when not looked at in a right angle. First I thought it to be an error of HardCMP's, but when I tested the ship in-game finally, the textures blurred the same way.

I've checked my MAT file for possible errors made by the exporter, but there, everything seems to be fine.

Has anybody had the same error once and/or knows how to solve it?

Yes, this is caused by putting a texture with too many mipmaps onto a very large object. Reduce the number of mipmaps to one, and the texture will become razor-sharp- the only problem is the amount of moire that you will see, which can be a problem with tiled textures.

Well, I used nine mipmaps, cuz I think the original textures have the same amount of them as well. But thanks anyway, I will try this out.

Ah, by the way: Why is it this error occurs for new textures while the originals work fine?

The originals were optimized by hand. You can make mipmaps the hard way, honestly.

most original textures have 8
