how?: exporting in 3ds max (7) without milkshape

Fairly self-explanitory title. How do you export from 3ds max, and avoid milkshape completely?

Does anyone happen to know of comparable/useful importers, exporters, or conveters that would be condusive to the process?

I've had, and used milkshape, but no longer. I don't want to pay for it firsty, and secondly am not in-love-with using my fleeting hard-drive space to house it.

Gawd... can... someone... sticky ... a topic thread called "BUY MILKSHAPE, YOU CHEAPSKATE PIRATE-SOFTWARE PEOPLE"? I mean, c'mon... like you paid for Max, which cost well over a thousand dollars for a legal seat. And you won't shell out $25 for MS3D?

Shame on you!

There are no substitutes. There is no news indicating that a working stand-alone exporter is anywhere on the horizon at this time. And the available plugins allow you to do much, much more than merely export ships. Buy it. Keep Mete Cirigan in milk money- we modders owe him a lot for all of the help he's given us over the years.
