I have a ship but I can''t skin worth a ...

I have a ship mostly finished, but the final model changes are going to be small.

Problem is, every time I go to skin it I end up with a really fake or stupid looking skin.

I've posted a couple of pictures here and here.

I've got some background worked up on it as I was originally going to include it in my mod (which will probably never be released) so infocards and stuff are allready done.

Anyway, anyone interested in skinning it either for their own use or for inclusion in a mod, please post here, or e-mail me. This isn't going to be a one shot deal, anyone who wants it gets it, I just have one condition: you e-mail me the final copy so mine doesn't look so goofy!

You also need to scale down the model it looks out of place.

that has lots of head room in there but it needs to be scaled down and give it a tighter profile would be pretty good if you gave it a jet black skin or take a skin cpie from a libery battleship or a kusari skin fomr theit battle ship would give it a nice look to it.

I deliberately made it too big to point out any structural flaws.

I'll try those two suggestions tho and post any positive results.

Any others?

Ok, tried both of the suggestions but the only one that came out right was the flat black which doesn't look that bad IMHO. I think I'll still with that rough idea, although I might throw some detail on to give it a more realistic look.

I also have another problem, the ship has dual thrusters and it properly hardpointed. Problem is that the cmp exporter eats the hardpoint. If you look at a freshly exported version in the cmp editor the hardpoint is missing, but if you select the hardpoint and his apply it appears. Is this normal? Or is my computer just gibbled? On a side note, this is what happens when it can't find the hardpoint.

It's hard to see what you've done from that pic. I would recommend taking screens from one of the Liberty bases which are much brighter than the Rheinland ones.

Ah true enough. I've reposted it in West Point, hope that's bright enough

Still looks a bit big to me, but I don't know. Should I make it smaller?
