The WC4 banshee

I've been working on this for a while and just finished. I copied this from an excellent lightwave model made by Alan Hart, all credit goes to him.

A couple of questions.

1: Do the textures have to be 256x256 or less?
2: I noticed a pilot figure in the fl ships, when you dock the figure dissappears. Do I have to add a hardpoint for this and if so what do I name it?

Comments and critism are welcome.

Yeah! Nice
1. there is no limit on texture size but it will cause problems if it is too small
2. it is Hp_Pilot

Thank you very much!!!!!

One more question.

Is there a list of the hardpoint names and what they stand for posted anywhere?

Personaly, with WC ships, I think the weapon hardpoints should be internal. They were designed for it.

oo I did see a list somewhere in the middle of a thread on this board but that was a long time ago and I've forgotten which.

Looks awesome, but it needs to be stretched lengthwise a bit.. very nice!

Best way to get the hardpoint names is break out the utf editor and open a complete cmp model and look over what they have.

HardPoint 101
okay this are the hardpoints
first the fixed hardpoints. all hardpoints located below are refered to as its location in the ship.

Hp/Fixed/HpMount - the mounting is place below the center of the ship. i tells fl that it is the models bottom so as not the model to sink
Hp/Fixed/HpPilot - the pilot
Hp/Fixed/HpShield01 - The shield hardpoint
Hp/Fixed/HpEngine## - Ships engine exhaust location, ## means 01, 02... etc. that depends on your engine.
Hp/Fixed/HpThruster## - Ships thruster location, ## means 01, 02... etc
Hp/Fixed/HpRunningLight## - ships blinking lights
Hp/Fixed/HpDockLight## - ships red light when docking
Hp/Fixed/HpHeadLight## - Ships Headlight
Hp/Fixed/HpContrail## - Those thing that looks like smoke coming out of your wing when at high speed.
Hp/Fixed/HpCM## - counter measure hardpoint location
Hp/Fixed/HpMine## - Mine Dropper location

Hp/Revolute/HpWeapon## - main weapon location
Hp/Revolute/HpTurret## - turret location
Hp/Revolute/HpTorpedo## - Torpedo launcher/Cruise Disruptor location

i think that's all about the harpoint location

Excellent! Thanks a million.

I was originally going to offer the model to Reynen to put in TNG but since its on hold I've decided to try and put it in Fl myself.

This will help a lot.

Now onto the .mat files...............
