Connecting collected equipment to my ship

For instance (and I know this was a silly thing to do, but still),

I had the rhino with level 3 shields. I kept failing in a firefight early in the game, there were lots of enemys and I couldnt fiy well enough in the rhino to stay alive.

So, I sold it and bought a fighter. But I kept those level 3 shields as opposed to selling them for a cheaper ship cost.

I won the fight, got back and wanted to resume trading. So I bought the rhino, and saw that I still had my level 3 shields, with a discconnet icon in the upper right corner of the icon. The objects (guns..etc) that are connected have the connected icon.

How can I hook up those shields to my ship? I sold the level 1 that came with it, and my shield slot was sitting open.

There should be a small yellow icon in the upper left corner ..... click that to install/uninstall it.

Hope that helps 8)

Yes, I believe that is correct. I just figured this out myself last night.

Also keep in mind you can't put fighter shields in a freighter's shield hardpoint. Don't know if that is an issue, but it might be.
