Map System

I was wondering is anyone planning to write a program that will allow you to specify a starting point and a finishing point, that will describe the best and shortest route?

YOu can do that in game now.

Doesn's the game already have that feature? Just choose where you wanna go and click on the best path icon. There you go...a series of waypoint for the quickest route.

Oh and I hear the manual tells you alot of neeto aspects of how to play the game. I suggest you give it a shot. It's a nice read.

That only works if he has bought the game and actually HAS a manual for it.

You can do that. How are we asses? We are just telling you the truth.

if you click on a spot in the map, one of the choices you have in the radial menu is to pick the best route, not just set a waypoint. Personally I like to set waypoints, since I fly directly to locations and can explore a bit more instead of relying on the fastest routes (trade lanes)

i think he means plan courses to places he hasn't been and to some of the outer worlds where you can't set courses in game. "no best course found"

I think he just doesnt know he can plot a course from 1 sytem to another. Check out page 32/33 of the Manual. Open the Nav Map and then either choose the Universe Map or the Base List. Click on a new location, then plot to that destination. It will generate waypoints for you.

If your only link between 2 systems is by jump holes then the game can't plot a route between them. You just have to do it manually one click at a time.

Read manuals. Lev? That's what you do when all else fails. I figured things out by fiddling with things 'til they worked. Much more fun that way.

I think there's a mod available that'll plot a course using jump holes.

Try looking in the Mod Manager thread, wherever it is.
