Demo save game

A question to those who already have the retail version. I've played the demo a while, and was wondering if i can load the savegame from the demo in the retail version. So can i?

Some people here tried it and experienced severe problems because some game mechanics (leveling up for example) have been different in the demo. You better start the game from scratch.
