Why is the intro movie different?

Having got the game and seen the intro movie it doesn't feature the nomad ships or the destruction of the Sol system that was in the previous intro movie from the CGI screenshots on the main lancer reactor site.
Is this saved for later or just not mentioned?
Only on mission 3 so maybe its included later but wouldn't the Alliance have noticed Sol going nova behind them or the lack of a Coalition invasion in 800 years.

Well I didn't see this other intro but if it was about Nomads destroying Sol after the Alliance flees, it wouldn't make sense, since later you find out that the Nomads have been put in the Sirius sector as sort of "guardians".

Well the Sol bit is on this discussion group main site.
Must have changed their minds, probably cause its a bit well hammy to have sol go nova.

Have you thought of it this way.Taking out the sol system in the origanal intro takes out the opportunity of returning to sol in a sequal maybe to seak revenge on the coalition?

I presume either way that the Coalition either don't exist or have changed radically since starlancer days. It is over 800 years since and they haven't turned up either for a polite "hello, sorry about that war" or to invade and carry on the war. Unless of course (I didn't play starlancer) only the alliance had/has faster than light drives and now jumpgates.

Maybe they were content having taken over an entire solar system and had been partying ever since... that is untill the nomads came and blew up the sun cuz they were pissed for not being invited.
