Help me decide to buy it or not...

Im still so stuck inbetween wanting to buy it just because it's part of the "Robert's" creation... and the demo wasn't all that bad... but in all I think the game is not even half of what it could be... it's a VERY basic game with a nice graphics engine - which could be better still... so what do you guys think???

Do I buy it when it comes out over her, or leave it? Thanks in Advanced.

buy. Without a doubt.

Reaper: $200,000,000.
Rockets: $100,000
The look on that pilot's face when you launch a full pod of screamers up his tailpipe: priceless

well buy it
its worth it. you play it at least I guess over 100 hours.
which is in my book worth the buy. (compared to most other games)

if you are low on money, and care more about mp, and want something that you play several hundret hours, maybe even thausend hours, well ... fl could still be the game your looking for. or not. that really depends than on personal flavor.

so I guess, I would say buy it.

Buy it.

You should know whether you want to buy it based upon the demo, IMO. The release is much like the demo only more. If the demo impressed you, buy it. If it didn't, don't.

If you're unsure, I don't know if anyone can help you here.

Yeah I know... what you are saying, but it's like errr... being hungry but not having an appetite. You could say "you know if you're hungry or not and whether you want to eat or not... nobody can tell you" - and I agree 100%... but this is weird because when I first played the demo I was excited, but severelly disappointed - but I can't stop playing the demo for it's childish arcade fun-madness... it's weird... I like to leave my computer downloading stuff over night so I put freelancer demo on and see how long I can cruise around the map using waypoints to cover all areas... I don't know waking up when i hear "shield failure" is kind of nice in a strange way... then it's like some sort of emergency and I get up and fight fight fight and go back to sleep.

The bottom line is, I have the cash... but as with buying anything money is valuable and you should never throw it away. If a lot of people here have bought it and enjoyed it - and a lot of these very same people have played SL, Privateer, Elite etc... and still enjoy it... then the likelyhood that I will enjoy the FULL version too will be high. Therefore you're opinions matter to me.

Kip.

Well Kip,

I'd say, the game itself, while not what was originally planned, is very fun. As you can tell from the demo, it's very quick paced. But I dare say it doesn't really give you an idea of what happens later on. depending on how you piss off, and where you are, you can have 20 or more ships aiming to kill YOU, and you alone

getting OUT of many of the situations you'll get yourself into are as much fun as the story Some of the game is repetative, but most of that can be skipped with the esc key, while the other parts are the time it takes to explore. But as I'm sure you found, there are hidden treasures for those who want to go looking

The game is a lot of fun, the story is very Roberts'esque. The later stages I would say have that feel of you're watching a movie scene then suddenly you are one of the characters and you have to save everyone just like good ole WC.

I'd say buy it, and you'll have fun. No, I think you won't find it everything you had hoped it would be, but you will find it very fun anyway. And you'll be happier when the next installment hits From the end of the story, I'd guess they do have plans for a FL2 with a much bigger scope, which would really rock if they do get to make it.

RogueOne

Buy it.

The game is an absolute blast.

Further, the modding community is already hard at work. The game is going to get even BETTER in the next few days and weeks.
