What are the exact contents of the FL box? (my seal was brok

I bought Freelancer at CompCCCP yesterday, and I was so excited that I didn't notice that the seal decal was broken until later (ie. the box had previously been opened prior to purchase). There wasn't much in the box: a manual, a CD sleeve (still sealed), and an ad for Alien computers. Is there supposed to be anything else in the box?

Also, there is a decal on the CD sleeve that has a serial number ("CD SET XXX-XXXXX"

. Is this serial number used for anything? I didn't have to enter a number during my install. I was thinking that maybe somebody broke into the box to steal the number for a burned copy.

I coulda taken it back, but like I said I was excited and I wanted to play it. Once I sorted out the SB Live! stutter that is...

Nope, you received everything.

The CD Set # is probably for MS's internal records, for like Tech Support and such.

I had also purchase my copy from CompUSA and my also had the top seal broken. Where do you live...I am in MI ,but everthing was in there and the cd sleeve was sealed.

I think the seal was broken to put the CD in the box. I had the same thing with CFS 3 but I'll look when I get my copy (april 18th I'm dutch)

What do you mean? That the boxes were out on display prior to the release date, and that the CDs were added later? Is it too much to ask for a second seal?

I'm in the Cleveland area, btw. The game doesn't need much more than it came with, though I dislike the ad pamplet...

Of course not, lol!!!

Mine was sealed (I always check - and you will too, the next time around...)!
I've only recently started FL, so while keys are normaly entered during the installation process, it could still very well be that it may be required for MP.

It's most likely (as stated above), for MS registration purposes only.
