chances of running freelancer

I live in the uk, and freelancer isn't out here yet...
i just wanna know if it will run very well on my pc, or if its not worth bothering..

i've got an 800mhz Athlon, Geforce2 MX, 640Mb Ram.....
what do u reckon? is anyone esle running a similar system and how does the game run?

You'll be fine. I ran the demo as smooth as pie on my machine which is pretty similar: PIII800, 512Mb Ram, Geforce 3.

You'll probably find a little stuttering in some of the heavier action scenes but I think you will be pleasantly suprised with the overall performance.

I don't really run this place but I have an understanding with the people who do.

Only 64 system ram? If that is correct you need to add some more ( 128 ). But your processor and video card is fine.

hehe he said 640 ram. Your comp will run it at max details with no prob.

I'm running the full version on a amd 1100, 512mb Geforce 2. I was fully prepared to buy a new Geforce 4 if Freelancer needed it, but it really looks good on my Geforce 2....

Me no gun

yes i did say 640mb....

cheers guys. i might try the demo... will take ages for it to download at 56kbps though!

You'll be just fine

I run it smoothly on my PIII650 256MB ram and a Geforce2 MX.
Of course I have to make some concessions to the graphics.

You'll be just fine I think.

Yeah, odds are with the MX that you'll experience a general framerate drop when you face a nearby nebula. But once you get INSIDE it you should be fine again. At least that's what I've experienced with my GF4Go 440 (MX 440 desktop equivalent). It's not a bad drop for me though, so I haven't switched any settings yet.

Dell Inspiron 8200
1.7 GHz P4-M
512MB ram
GF4Go 440 w/ 40.72 dets (using the MX 440 driver. Dell has no freakin video support)
WinXP Pro (no crashes. EVER.)
1024x768x32 w/ all settings maxed (no AA)

Methinks FreeLancer will be the last new release game that I can play at maximum detail, on a Duron 900 with a GeForce 2MX!

New release, old engine. Five (six?) years of development, remember?

That said, FL is still a beautiful game. Then again, space sims tend to look really nice anyway.

I'm running an old athlon 600 with a geforce 2 mx w/32mb ram and 128mb system ram. The fan on my geforce 2 mxis dying a slow tortous death where it stops spinning for breif periods when I'm playing. Even with that I'm still able to play quite well with the details turned down.

So yes given that you get some more ram you'll be great.

PS remember that the MX version is a weak version of a real geforce.

I'm running a althlon 650mhz - 256ram - Geforce 2 Ti/450. I have everything maxxed and have yet to see any frame rate drop.
