Newb qestion: shield types?

Just wondering, how am I supposed to know what type of shielding the enemy has? Do certain factions always have the same type of shielding, so I can know which weapons to equip?

Scan the enemy.

Scan them

It defaults to cargoload, but if you click on weapons/internals, etc it will show you their weapons loadout, and other information.

Infinity is only moments away...

Ok, thanks. I tried that once, but didn't immediately see it then. Also, it's a bit combersome when in the middle of a dogfight
