how do you mine? I was in a mining field trying to figure it out. couldn't figure out what to shoot at and like you said rogues upon rogues kept coming

You shoot at the little pieces of rubble that come at you. You know you can mine when your targeting icon turns white. But yeah, I need to find a quiet place to mine...it is almost impossible in the New York system with all of the Rogues.

Well I made best friends with the Red Hessians and mine diamonds in the Van Rohe belt in the Omega-11 system. After I get filled up I run over to the nearby Freital Base (Hessian owned) and sell them and go back for more.

Wow. I am glad to hear that there might actually be some decent places to mine.

Mining looks like fun to me but when all you get is water, it starts to look pretty pathetic.

Thanks for the tip. I was actually thinking that I would probably need to get out of Liberty space to do some decent mining...where people aren't after me just yet!

Omega-11, North-East of Freistadt. Cloud contains Silver, Copper and Cobalt.

At least I think that's Omega 11.

Yes there is a jump hole in Omega-7 (the same place Freistadt Base is located) that will take you to Omega-11. The Van Rohe belt is a huge cluster of rocks in Omega-11 with many having diamonds inside. Freital Base which is owned by the Red Hessians is nearby. Make sure you are neutral or friendy with them as you won't be able to land there or even mine for diamonds peacefully if not. It's really fun mining there, very scenic area.

i think that it's the colorado system that has a silver mining field. there are some hostiles in the area, but the debris cloud is much larger than the hostile range. sells for a pretty penny, especially if you're of low level and can't leave liberty space yet.

Yep, there's definately Copper in Colorado, and you can sell it in the same sytem for 400 at Pueblo, not bad.

Also, in the Dresden system there is an asteroid field (not the one surrounding Leipzig Station) that is just chock full of diamonds (I'd get about 45 of them in about 25-30 minutes). Also, in the middle of the field there is a jump hole to the Frankfurt sector (just in case anybody wanted to know about that)
