one thing I noticed with the save games, is if you copy a .fl file and already have freelancer running, it won't show up. I had to quit freelancer and load it back up again before the saves appeared.

Might want to try that. If not, then the .fl's are probably incompatible.

You can move saved games from the beta to the retail, here's how:

Find the saved games. If you deleted them when you uninstalled the beta and installed the retail, you're out of luck.

Open the saved game file you want to make accessible in a word processor, since the files are large for text it is probably best to open them in Word. The text file will have "FLSG" and then a bunch of garbage afterwards. Alter that to read "FLS1". Do NOT change anything else in the file. Save and close. You can now open that save in the retail version.



Knights of Eastern Calculus

I copied my save game file from the demo over to the full version because I was in the same situation as you palerider, except I was almost level 2.

Well, (so far) it turns out that the full version doesn't recognize that I can go up levels. The worth needed is 28K, I have 29K, and I did the mission in the beginning.

Any idea on how to get the game to level me up? I have approx. 7 hrs invested, the save game is clean, no mods..

That's the price you have to pay for being able to play the beta: you have to start from scratch. Don't say the TLR guys didn't warn you about "spoiling the final game" by playing the marketing beta.

p.s. don't take this too serious (one can't stress this enough in hostile times like this. )
