I think there are links floating around for programs that will allow you to use a joystick as the mouse for this game. Although I don't see why you'd want to. I was a hardcore joystick holdout until I actually played. Now it's apparent to me that this system works much better for this particular game.

The game wouldn't work half as well with a joystick since the heads up display is so integrated with combat. Good luck trying to use a jostick to fly and use your mouse simultaneously to navigate the HUD.

If I may ask...

What exactly in the HUD do you have to interact with during combat?

Just about everything in the HUD can be hotkeyed.
And most other thing on the screen can be selected just by targeting them, like waypoints.

I think the mouse-flight works fine, and I am getting rather good with it.
But, I would still prefer the OPTION top use "other" interface devices. ( I didn't say the word "j**s****"! )

As far as combat goes, I am considering trying that "mouse 2 j**s****" program just to see how well it actually works.
The only drawback I can see is not having the "snap to center" function that usually happens when you release a j**s****, and having to center the cursor manually.
Perhaps we could just petition DA for a "center cursor" button? hehe Why not? They based this on "shooters games" and just about every one of them I can think of has a feature like that.

Anyway, sorry for the ramble...just woke up, must have caffiene!

Fly well,
