@piotrr
But then why go slow and fast projectiles the same path if you fire both of them at the same time?
I also doubt the game can 'guess' which ship you're trying to hit and then use its distance to calculate the shot-angle.

For the Liberty Systems, I used all Barrage Mk I's in any ship I flew and I had no problem taking out at least one enemy fighter in the first initial "joust pass". As for shields I'm going with the "bigger is better" approach and not being as concerned with damage type.

Yup, sounds like what I do as well.

Also, if I don't mind getting the rogues totally PO'd at me, I tend to get as many Drails as I can...a Defender with a full load of Drails seems to take out a lot of ships.

Fly well,

Prisma, that's a good point. There are different projectile speeds. And they wouldn't reach the target ship at teh same time. I guess I never really thought of that. Anyone shed some light on this?

I think microsoft and DA din't expect quite so much thought to be put into problems with the game. (Their mistake!)

I hadn't thought about it either. I guess it only dawns on you once you think back on Privateer and that good ol' ITTS... thank god, btw, that we don't have to worry about buying software on FL!

I guess that the aiming pipper displays the point for one of the weapons. If it's the fast weapon, slow weapon, or just the first weapon, I have no idea.

Personally, I avoid the weapons with really slow projectiles (600m/s+ for me). I also tend to lean towards high rate of fire.
