3rd person perspective

Thank God for CDRW ability and a fast connection at work. Got the
Demo. Am I correct in assuming that this Freelancer game is
100 percent 3rd person perspective? In other words, the little ship
you see in front of you, that 'you' pilot around, is a 3rd person perspective.

As opposed to a 1st person shooter, or normal flight/space sims where your
view is from inside the craft.

Thanks in advance.

If you press Ctrl-V in game, you can switch to first person view, which shows "struts" of the cockpit.

Click CTRL+V and you will see from the inside the cockpit

It also changes the timbre of the sounds a bit too, I personally think it sounds better that way.

I like the 3rd person viesw a bit better, it gives you a better view of the situation (in my opinion)

Not sure where that quote originated, but you can get the t-shirt from ThinkGeek.com.

I too, prefer 3rd-person for combat, but if I'm against easy enemies, I'll go for cockpit, since I have a 5.1 surround setup.
