I don't know what telephone calls cost in the US, but over here 14 hours of calling would cost you like 15$, thats allmost 1/3 of what the full game costs.

I got 56 K as well but I got it in about 7 1/2 hours.Just download it from the MS site since they have PLENTY of bandwith.

Pozo

Most dialups in the US use a local dailup service...so the calls are free...no extra charge for the 14 hour download. I use Cable service.. I do pay a monthly fee..but have no extra charge for time I am on the internet...can stay on as long as I want to. I downloaded the demo in the evenings when the internet is very busy with traffic. It still only took me 27 mins. Got to love living in the USA!

I've got ADSL (don't know what the A is, but it's like DSL ) so I don't have to pay for online time, just a monthly fee like you. I got it within 27 minutes

**nerd mode
Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line

Means that your Upstream (the rate at which your PC sends data to the internet/other computers <normally 128 kBit/s, max 1 mBit/s> ) is different from your Downstream (the rate at which you PC receives data from the internet <normally 768 kBit/s to 1 mBit/s, max 8 mBit/s> ).
Most "DSL" users have ADSL, because SDSL (Synchronous Digital Subscriber Line) isn't that important for users who don't want to host servers etc.
