Ship Dealers

Has anyone determined if the dealers compensate ship trade-ins with custom equipment? ie. to get max value am I required to strip my ship first then sell it or do I get the same if I just traded it in w/o stripping it first?
thanks,
Lynx

Don't bother stripping your ship. Whatever you have in it will transfer to the new one, at least in the Demo.

Except things that couldn't be transferred they are in the righthand window

It works like this. When you goto buy another ship, you get the highest value for your ship included in the trade automatically. Any equipment on your ship gets traded over to the new ship.

So pull off what you want to save?

Nah wot u want to save dont click only click on stuff u want to throw in with the deal so he gives you more discount off the ship you are buying

A new ship you buy also comes with a new shield generator that goes with it: You can return this to the dealer during the equipment transfer stage for full price, which you will not get if you buy the ship, then discover you have two shield generators, and don't want the one which came with the ship.

For example, if you already have a Graviton L7 shield, and buy a ship that gives you another shield, and you want to continue using your old shield, you can immediately return that new shield and remount your old shield, and you will get a full credit for that shield. If, on the other hand, you just buy the ship, and then sell the new shield off at the equipment shop, you get the resale value.
