Can I do what I want?

Do I have to do all missions for Juni to advance in the game or can I just refuse and then start working for some others and the story still will go on?!

I did a mission for Bounty Hunters but when that were done I got the message "Go to California and meet Juni"..

Meet her, then decline the next mission and you can keep playing.

The problem is that level advancements are locked by missions. So if you decline her you will never be able to get a good ship. So the game basically forces you to do the missions in order.

Just get enough money every time.. then you upgrade ships and guns to max troughout the storyline...

Once you make your FIRST million you'll be more than happy to do the plot missions; you no longer have to worry about making ends meet base to base, planet to plant for equipment, ammunition, etc etc...

I don't even look at the prices of ordanance anymore, I'm like a kid in a candy store I'll have this one! I'll have that one! and that one and that one!!! You get the point....

Playing along with the story line is supposed to open up other systems and ships that you cannot get without finishing the story missions. I think the whole "Do whatever you want and be whoever you want to be" stuff is a little misleading. It should be more like: Do whatever you want -- after you finish the story.
