Awesomeness

I know this is old news for most, but today I went in to my (one of many) local Gamestop to preorder Freelancer, and they gave me the marketing beta. I was kinda hoping they would, but didn't count on it since it had been so long since they did that. The guy told me they weren't supposed to be giving them out (so it wasn't just because I preordered), but he said that they had the original three they had gotten that had just been setting in a drawer because no one there wanted them (most of the Gamestops I've seen have been going console only). I was a little shocked, but happy none-the-less. Needless to say, I gave a hearty "Hell yeah!" Too bad it's only a week from release. At least I've got something to tide me over until then.

Id recommend that you don't play SP too much, because the savegames aren't compatible with the Final version...
maybe do the first 2 missions, but spend the rest with "multiplayer" and train the flying (and get to know the space around Manhatten)

Funny you should say that, because I just spent the last 2 or 3 hours playing multiplayer, without even trying the singleplayer. I pretty much decided that I didn't want to mess with the singleplayer too much because for one, you can't get passed level ten (coincidence?) and two, like you said I'll just have to start over in a week. I really enjoyed the multiplayer, and I didn't even see but a couple of people. I think the openess of the MP, with the feeling that you can do anything and go anywhere, adds a lot. I really like my Liberty Defender.

Yup. The usefulness of a ship depends on the pilot .
