Clear this up- Direct X 9?

Alright, before installing the demo it said I needed this. I didnt have it and play the demo fine.. but I've heard that you need Direct X 9 for mulitplayer? Is this true? Some people have had problems with DX9, so I was hopping I wouldn't have to install it.. but I'll have to if its required for multi!

Yes, its required for multiplayer.

I have DX9, and I haven't had any bother with it. If anything, it actually seems better than the previous version, which I assume was the source of my computer's slow-down.

Games started to play slower (I'm sure it was just after the DX 8.x install)...but then performance was restored (I'm sure it happened just after I installed DX9).

Well some probably do have problems with it...but there are others who don't, like me.

Besides, the only way to know for sure is to try it yourself.
