Does Freelancer needs CD-key to play online?

Don't get me wrong here, I am buying the original no matter what it is. The demo rox. I already pulled in 2 of my JK2 clan members into this game, and trying to pull in somemore.

oh and one more thing. Anyone have any idea whats inside the freelancer box? wish i have a shirt of it...anyone knows?

The illegal version already comes with a unique id.. now unless there will be a id generator to change this in future... then the owners of the server will know who is playing illegal versions on-line by the key .. and hopefully ban those guys

nope dosnt need a cd key i just got it from the girl at sam goodies

she said they got 10 copies for staff to test and they arnt the beta the girl sold me one and the box is the same as pictured on the main site, and the one my frend got in the mail from where he preorderd was the beta after all he called back after we figued it out when i noticed his start screen for thegame said 0.89b and mine said 1.0

Yeah, the ID's are generated randomly on the machine you install (correct me if I'm wrong but thats my impression so far) In theory the same CD could be installed on 10 machines and have 10 unique ID's and all be able to play online, but of course you would need to have 10 CD's but i'll let you figure that part out... =p

ah crap...DA should have implement some cdkeys. Speaking of DA. Thats my clan name..haaaaaaaa..oh yah..regarding the content inside the box..any info about it? I tot of you had one of the game already.
