Mining, how does it work ?

Hello,

As the topic says : can anyone explain how mining works, please ? The map shows mining locations, but what can we do there ? Can we mine ourself or that's just for background ? And if we can mine, where should I sell the stuff ?

There are little flying objects that look kind of like garbage cans, you shoot these and about 1/5 times it will produce scrap metal. Just lock on and tractor it in.

In the asteroid fields are smaller asteroids you can shoot. You shoot them and hope there is something inside. If there is, tractor it in and you have just mined.
