So?

As far as it goes there is a warez version of every major game roaming on the net.

Post Fri Feb 21, 2003 3:03 pm

Anyone thinking about trying to get the warez version...DONT DO IT! Freelancer shouldnt be Free (get it? Freelancer Free? Oh never mind)

You'll only regret it later when all future Freelancer sequels get canned because of the lack of money DA earnt from making this game. Buy the original FULL version asap.

Just buy the game. Warez is not only illegal but it always contains bugs and often does not work correctly.

I came. I saw. I conquered. And sometimes get conquered.

hey don't shoot the messenger!

We all want Freelancer to be a sucess....and most of us are gonna buy the game. ( I hope!)

I just thought people wanted to know about the news.

I love how they say crap like "games developers deserve your support, if you enjoyed this product, please consider buying it" yet know full and well that not one single bum who DLs this is going to buy it. Disgusting

Post Fri Feb 21, 2003 4:00 pm

You know that full and well, Tach?

Post Fri Feb 21, 2003 4:15 pm

More important: how do you know that they say that?

My step-son's friend got a warez beta version of Doom III, and it more or less melted down his system (Although, from the sounds of it, it was due for one anyhow)
I say it's poetic justice. Anyone who wants to play a game should have enough integrity to purchase it instead of stealing it.
I think this whole topic should be deleted by the mods. There is no place for Warez info on a fan site.

Sorry Lass, but that's the way I feel about Warez, and anyone who has ever paid full price for a game should feel the same way.

Warez is baaaaaad.

Discussion on piracy/cracks will either be closed or deleted without warning. Also pure advertising of other websites in the forums will be removed!

Post Fri Feb 21, 2003 4:43 pm

I agree Tach... disgusting...

People who go to those sites can't be considered "buying consumers", I figure they are among the "never existed" crowd of so called gamers...
...let's hope it's a small % ....

When it absolutely, positively needs to be ~~*BOOM*~~`(static)

Post Fri Feb 21, 2003 4:54 pm

ok. Lets close the thread then.

Post Fri Feb 21, 2003 4:57 pm

You can do that by editing your first post it'll delete the entire topic.

My mistake just press the delete url in your first post & enter your username & password which will in effect delete the topic altogether since it wouldn't make sense closing the thread & still having the url here.

the stupid thing is that it's out on the interenet NOW, and that the retail in Europe is in April... that's a real problem (for me)
but i sincerely intend in buying it when i like it
(where's that damn demo )

Post Fri Feb 21, 2003 5:01 pm

Well I wouldn't say that warez = evil unconditionally, it really depends on the integrity of the end user.
I have, on occasion tried a pirated game where a demo does not exist just to audit it's gameplay. I have then gone on to purchase the game if I enjoyed it or delete it if I didn't.

Another consideration though is the close relationship that the Heads of TLR had, indeed have with the folks at didgital anvil.
I'm sure they don't want warez talk on these boards damaging that relationship so out of respect for the work they put in building ties with DA and bringing us all quality news we should agree not to condone pirating of FL.

And finally, Ser Lev, if you get to see this post, your sig seriously rocks!
