Deep space combat games have been painfully absent from the gaming landscape the last several years but Freelancer is going to change all that. This a great big beautiful sprawling beast of a game that lets gamers chart their own path through an epic story. Is there any better life than that of a grizzled bounty-hunting ne'er-do-well fighting enormous evils and earning a few credits on the side to spruce up your spaceship? I didn't think so.
