RP question

I checked the FAQ and did not see my answer. What aspect of RPing will there be in the game? I read somewere that you gain levels depending on how much money you make over the game. But do you actually have statistics that increase, like flying, fighting, barter or is it just a basic level that determines what ships and weapons you can use?

I am a big RP fan so I am interested in how they handle this part of the game.

I think you can upgrade parts of the ship like, weapons, shield reactor, engine, nano bots etc. When you have enough money just buy a better ship and transfer your old weapons loadout to the new ship etc. Basically, your ship is the one that gains levels etc. Maybe some of the veteran lancer members can verify what I am saying.

Verifed.

Ships have certain weapon level capabilities. This means you must have a ship that can handle some of the higher level upgrades. If you are flying a ship with say level 4 capabilites, you won't be able to buy or mount a level 8 gun. The highest level in this category is level 10.

You can increase another "level" that is based solely on your net worth. 38 is the highest level obtainable seen so far.

So if you buy a new ship does it automatically adjust to how much money you have made or do you have to level up each ship you buy?

I think new ships would start out at a minimum level, since you need the certain "level" of cash to buy them.
Like a $25k Drake will have level 1 turrets
A $50k Dragon would be level 2-3 turrets
I havent played, just seems to be what I've gathered.

I know I'm wrong!

It seems to track your earnings when considering networth for level. I gave a freind $600,000 last night but he stayed level 1.

You get levels from cash you win from missions, not just from getting wealth. As for ships, from what i've seen you buy a ship and it has it's default load out. Then you can sell the guns on the ship and put better ones on.
