Will Freelancer Run on my Computer?

Hi, I just wondering if Freelancer will work on a P4, 256 Ram, 16 ATI Rage Video Card? Why I asking is I already pre order the stratagy guide and the game and I just wondering will the game work? Plus I have a older machine and I wonder will it work on it, P233, 80 MB, 14MB Video Card(8MB & 6M?

i doubt it will run on the one with 80 mgs of ram, not sure about the other one.

You're older machine will definately not run it.

As for your newer machine, you'll most likely need to upgrade your video card to a minumum 32 Mb card. It may run but don't bank on it.

Video card will be the main limiting factor, and I wouldn't bother trying to run FL on the older one

Mike,

That vid card is below what DA suggests for minimum. You "might" get it to run with most of the eye candy turned off. If the issue is PCI slot, and no AGP slot, there are 32 mg PCI cards out there, but they are hard to find. It would make a world of difference in performance to double the mg on the Vid card alone. The rest of the system is fine.

The other system, I have my dounts too like the rest above me.

Hi Steve, thanks for the info, but I think it is a pci/agp card, I going to buy the game and see what happen if this game will work if not then I will upgrade my video card.

I have seen 64 meg PCI Geforce4 MX420 video cards for sale at Best Buy just recently. Around 80 bucks. While not a top of the line card...it would still be a good upgrade for a older P3 600 for example. Atleast better than a old 16 meg TNT card.

I would be surprised if it ran smoothly with an integrated 16MB card. You might want to think about buying one of these: http://www.gameve.com/store/gameve_view ... 9&showit=1
