Little known fact about Privateer
I dunno why, but I think this is worth mentioning. Many of you might not be aware of this and it could go a long way in settling you concerns about if Freelancer really has any of the "good stuff" that was in Privateer.
The Producer and 1/2 the Original concept design (the other 1/2 was Chris Roberts) of Freelancer is none other that Phil "Razor" Wattenbarger. If that name doesn't ring a bell, he was a designer and a playtester for Privateer. Of course back then he had a bit longer hair and curls. Here's one of his quotes from the Playtesters guide:
"The Gothri and the Dralthi are extrememly flat ships. If they are flying towards you, they will be hard to hit unless you manage to target them from an angle. Employ frequent rolling meneuvers to get a good angle on both Kilrathi fighters --"Razor"
I think it is only fitting to just mention the others involved with Privateer:
"Torch" Louber, "Balzac" Nichols, "Eagle" Vaughan, "Deetchman" LaCoste, "Falcon" Harrington, "Strider" Herrell, "Lord Emperor" Kassebaum, "Bravestar" Long, "Cowtipper" Manners, "Havoc" Orzulak, "Frog" Shelton, "Dragon" Starns, and "Viper" Wachhaus.
Without these folks, we wouldn't be here today.
