minimum requirements

I've just found this site. Very good indeed. I've been on it six hours already. Anyway, I have seen the min specs announced. My pc is on the borderline (athlon 600Mhz, 128mb RAM, 32mb video card) does anyone know if I will suffer too much with this spec? I could upgrade RAM easy if that will make much difference. Is there decent graphic options etc? Will it be like Privateer, the faster your machine the faster the gameplay? I actually liked the slower gameplay on Privateer, it made it more strategic rather then arcade like.
Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.

That vid card might be your bottleneck if it's an MX version. The RAM would be the next consideration. If you're using WinXP the entire OS is probably clunky right now with 128 RAM. If you're on Win98 then you're probably fine.

You can tweak down the special effects within FL to run on some older cards and it will run just fine., But I'd consider the RAM upgrad at this point seriously. Even on Win98 that might help and be less expensive than a Vid card upgrade.

Processor wise I'd say it will be fine although you might have to tone down the graphics just a bit to get an increase on performance. You'll just need to test out some settings when you get it, but that system you have will run FL as is.

Welcome to the family! You too White Tiger below!!

I thnk you will be ok with your system. I would get another 128 meg of ram tho.
You may have to adjust the details some to play it smooth. but from what I have read from some of the beta tester's posts. the game will still look great. My understanding of the combat is....it is more tense and more action going on than Privateer was. But hopefully there will be enough strategy involved to not make that a big matter. It should depend also on what kind of char. you plan on playing ... merchant, fighter, etc. But to finish the story..I have a feeling your going to have to do a lot of combat at one point or other. That was how it was in Privateer.

I was in the same situation as you, wondering how the game would run, but someone here, who was in the beta, told me that he was running the game fine on a PIII 450, tnt 2, 128 megs ram on windows xp in 1024X768.
