Demo?!?!

I don't know whether this is an issue of the utmost importance for all of you, but for me having never had any first hand contact with FL, I'm chomping at the bit to get my hands on a demo of the game. I'm very pleased to see that the final release date is now less than a month away for those of us here in the US, but nevertheless I'm wondering if any information is out as to a specific release date for the demo. The uncertainty is killing me. If I simply knew when to expect it I think it would be better.

It's said to be released 1-2 days before it reaches shelves....so around March 2 or 3 for the US/Canada.

Yipee!!!! 20 more days tops!!! After five years...why do 20 days seem eternal?

Laughs!

Calm down man! I thought I was the only one who was that excited about Freelancer! *grins. But really.....I am not so sure if I will play the demo or not. Even tho I know I will be tempted like crazy! I kind of like the ideal of playing the full game from scatch without any before hand knowledge of what it looks like up close! The screen shots are about the most I want to see before I get the full game.....maybe.

Well I suppose with release of the final version coming only a day or two after the demo I could probably hold out that long and go for the full thing. It depends on whether I'd have to go get the demo on a cd in some magazine or whether it would be available for instant download online. I might not be able to resist if that were the case. Who knows, I guess only time will tell.

Well, I certainly hope it comes out before the game hits shelves, because I for one can't wait that long

Seriously though, they promised the same thing for Unreal 2 and it didn't happen, the developers may chose to enjoy their well-deserved leisure time after 5 or 6 years of hard work.

I'll get the dmeo for sure. I need to know how well the game will run on my computer.

Likewise...however cos i got to wait till 11th April it'll help keep my cravings at bay.

Nothing is known about the demo except that it will (probably) be coming out shortly before the game is released in North America. Anything else is speculation and frankly nobody knows. Except maybe DA

I'm from Germany, but to hell with me if i should wait for the localized or even the UK version! I mean... that would be over a month later, let alone that localized versions are crap almost every time! I'm gonna get my hands on the US Version asap!

At first I was not concerned with the demo but a couple weeks ago my dad got a cable modem so a whole new world of huge files is open to me for downloading. I will be on the lookout for the demo. It will tide me over just in case I can't find the real game in stores right away.
