Enemy AI is a Crapper?

Hi all. Just joined the forums. I read in a preview somewhere that the Enemy AI is predictable. I guess that would be Freelancers Achille's ankle. Can someone of the beta testers comment on this?

Considering what I´ve heard, the enemies are a lot smarter than in SL for example! You now can´t just follow them at their heck because in battles you are always in a minority and your enemies work together so battles just won´t be too easy I guess...

It varies. If someone doesn't ever explore past Liberty space than they might be inclined to say the AI is predictable. The AI in civilized space is supposed to be easy. When you get further out, AI will get better and start doing more crazy things. By the time you get to the very edge, like Corsair space, you will be hard pressed to keep up with the AI.

Wow this game just keeps geting better and better. From what Ive seen from the TAchyon video It seams that the AI uses pretty sophisticated team work

I have read that the enemy's AI is really tough..like you can no longer just sit behind a enemy and blast at them.

Huh....Yup the AI is really going to just stand there & let you fire on them.I know what you're getting at,there was a small sequence in which the Dagger just let the the Starflier rip into it.This was discussed a while back in which there was easy explanation for which was that its engine was simply disabled since you could see it pretty clearly that the Starfler aimed in that direction.Hope this explanation should put an end to the stupid AI rumour.

It's good that they have some kind of AI because NPC AI suxs lol

Yah, it does get harder as you move out in space. Also, since each faction flies in a different style, they improve on them too. You guys are going to see some of the craziest moves done by the NPCs. They are experts with the engine kill + side move combo.

This is of course the way it should be in a game and sounds very sweet to me Thanks again Tach for the enlightment and answerering these questions concisely.

one faction you wouldnt want to fight are the xenos in liberty, sure they fly very light fighters but they fly like mad men, it took me a full minute to kill one the other day while i was in a defender, they just dont hold still, the way i got him was to let him get behind me and just drom 10 or so mines
