(Ice) Asteroid fields

I think I have read somewhere that assteroid are always owned by someone,
wich makes it dangerous for the miners in usif we get busted,

Can someone prove me wrong and tell me that there are fields wich are not owned by someone or sectors wich you can buy ?

You cant buy bases or sectors or anything like that, but if theres a base in the area I think you could join that particular organisation. How loyal you are, is up to you

There are fields that are owned by nobody, but to buy the mining rights would be massively expensive (hundreds of millions of credits) plus you would have to keep ALL ships out of it which would be hard. So you yourself can't buy mining rights.

while we are on the subject of money can someone tell me how much mony is alot (relative to something like a good ship a bad ship and commodities)

Once you have for or five hundred thousand credits you have a lot. That will buy you a decked out Valkyrie with best guns and shields their battleship has to offer. Then you can go pretty much anywhere you want, out to the borderworlds. If you want to go to the edgeworlds, you'll need something stronger

Really rich means 5 million + credits... But out in the Border Worlds money has a tendency to disappear into repair bills...

well, ill just humble along to a relativly undefended asteroid w/ some minerals and go dock and take some stuff, attract soem attention, kill off the bad guys and then take some more off them
