Fuel?

I've gone over some old posts and the commodities but one thing isn't clear to me so i've decided to clear it up once and for all. Do you have to fuel your ship up at all or can you just run your engines indefinitly?

There is no fuel of any kind I believe. Just your afterburener which consumes energy and so is limited to short bursts. But it recharges on it's own.

I think that is correct.

I dont htink there is "fuel" persay, but I do think there is like Afterburner fuel yanoe?

You don't have to fuel up for normal engines... and I believe cruise mode does not depend on fuel either (but you can't use weapons while in Cruise)... however Afterburners do use up fuel... or at least need to recharge before being used again...

A PR owner can verify that last point again for us I forgot

Engines are fusion based and thus do not use fuel. Afterburners drain energy from your thruster energy pool, which recharges by itself over a while. It's independant from weapon and shield energy.

maybe i'm blind, but i've never been able to discern a "thruster energy" display on the hud.. can any PRBP tell me where it is?

...Just a random thought from a random mind

So if theres a auto re-generate with fuel, will there be auto-repair(for minor/major damage) like on S/W Pod Racer??

Post Mon Feb 03, 2003 6:33 pm

You can have a limited number of one-use nanobots that will bring your hull integrity up to 100% (or as high as you can get, one nanobot only repairs so much hull) but will not repair destroyed wings or other extremities, and will not repair equipment.

Your shields regenerate tho. Normally, if you get shot once or something they will regenerate slowly but if your entire shields have been totally blasted away, your ship will take a couple seconds and give you a larger chunk of your shields back all at one time, not slowly regenerated.

well by that time, think there will be a hull left??
anyhow, i was curious, when you say destroyed wing.. you mean heavily damaged, or is it at all possible to actually have a bot reattach a destroyed peace? not repair it, just reatach it...it's nice to have a engine if u know what i mean . (don't know if this has been answered so sorry for the repetition if it has been asked before)

Once a wing or other extremity is gone you can't get it back without landing and paying somebody to repair your ship. Can't reattach... But I do mean destroyed as in blown clear off.
