Wow, this article has really got me jazzed up, IMO the best non-biased article I've read so far on FL. I particularly enjoyed his comments on the combat and how bloody efficient the enemy will be, finally, a space game where you just can't hover behind the enemy to destroy him.
Good preview... Those pics on the right are interesting too .
Some of the screenshots are strange, tough... the background looks like athmosphere and the HUD is very... wierd.

Looks like all the pics are taken in 2d. The backgrounds are all mostly solid color, so they look very strange if you don't know what you're looking at. A few of 'em look like it could be a birds eye view game! lol. He's also minimized all the hud windows and is using 1st person view, so it's kinda wierd. We need cockpits, really!
-it's cuz they're in a nebula, so lots of blue stuff...

This article scared me, in a good sort of a way. In Privateer there were some missions that I had to call on my son to get me through. It wasn't until I had played the game, oh maybe 3 or 4 times that I finally got good enough to get by them on my own. But now he lives 400 miles away. I'll be one of the folks upgrading as much as I possibly can before I take on each new story line mission. Sounds wonderful !!!
