First post First question

Hey,
This is my first post here. Seems like a great community. Im truly excited about Freelancer, brings back fond memories of playing Privateer on my old 486. I just got a new computer so Im wondering what other space games are out there along the lines of privateer and Freelancer? Im not interested in mission based games, they don't do anything for me. I like having the freedom to upgrade my ship anyway I like and go where I please. So any suggestions of games I could try would be great. Links to demos would be even better. Thanks in advance.
