It's to prevent Barg's hair loss when he sees that the posts were edited without his intervention. Otherwise I could change the date/time as often as I wanted to.

Welcome Miss-Fire, glad to have you here.

I don't think you'll find life quite as difficult as Edge of Chaos when you play Freelancer. EoC was damn hard and I was even hunting down an indestructable cheat when I came to the realisation that I would be 85 y.o. before I finished it.

Ta every-one thats kinda cleared that one up.....so if it's gunna be like any nomal game of just installing and getting staight into the action, do you think their will be a load of buttons to get used too!! Like "hot-keys" on an RPG? I guess what i'm asking is, will it be really complicated, or very user friendly?

The controls are fairly simple. It takes you a couple minutes to get a grasp of all the controls and the essential keys which you will need to use.

What's bad in RPG hotkeys? You do not HAVE to use them!
As I can guess, Freelancer will have arcade controls?

How does one exactly define arcade controls in a space flight game? Unrealistic? Easy?

When it comes down to the long and short of it though, Freelancer hasn't really been built as a hardcore space sim. It's more of an entity within itself, a little RPG, a little Space Combat, a little Tycoon and a little bit story driven. Personally I think that sounds pretty cool. But if you are looking for is Falcon 4 in space, maybe Freelancer won't be your cup of tea.

Miss-Fire... from what I've seen this game is essentially point-and-click. There will be a few "must have" hot keys but for the most part a mouse will do the job. You may want to get a mouse with a scroll button in the middle if you don't already have one.

Thats sounds fine, every game has afew hot-keys, what i was getting at was that you don't have to keep looking at the key board every time you want to do something simple....point & click sounds even better!!!

The great thing about space sims is that they're often simpler to get into than a hard-core flight simulator. No gravity for one thing. . . I fear that, from my point of view, Freelancer may be too Arcade and not enough Simulation.

I'll really miss my HOTAS setup when I get the Demo.

Ban REVERSE THRUST! Fly something other than a phoenix for a change!

Yeah thats right, you scroll it up to increase your speed and scroll it down to decrease your speed. They also mapped it to W and S but I remap those to afterburn and engine kill.
