US version versus Europe version

Hi,

Like many of you I'am also having trouble with the different dates of release. Since I have a friend in USA I was thinking of ordering an US version through him.
But I would like to know if there are any inportant differences between US version and EU version. If I would buy an US version would I have any kind of problems with the FL?
If not, what's the point in making two versions?
Thank you.

The reason they have the smaller boxes is it saves em a hell of a lot of money yet we pay the same! gah! i want me big boxes back!!!!!!!!!

It really depends on the game. Most games have different exe's for the EU version, sometimes incorperating any patches they worked on in between releases.

You need to feel like your actually buying something..
I mean... if i spend £2000 on a new pc I have a choice..
Big/small/thin... The only choice with FL is yes or no..
Manuals chunky or not have a place.. to be denied all the
'gubbings' and extra info bits that rattle inside a standard
games box is downright nasty.
If all you get is a CD.... then thats just made piracy even
more efficient. Purchasers need to feel they have something
physical for thier money. something other people who dont
pay wont get.
I've/we've been denied.. at the last stroke

Those were the days when a new game would sit in big cardboardbox, with a nice thick (well written manual), a chart, a poster and some other goodies...
The smell of print/paper etc. when opening up a brand new long awaitet game... reading through the manual all excited late at night (after the PC-shutdown was enforced by the parents...)

... these days are gone since the DVD packaging and online manuals became a fashion.

(only the part about the enforced computer-shutdown stayed - the enforcing now taken over by the fiancé

Good things come in small boxes...

"God bless this acid house!"
"I was near the scene of another crime at the time, officer."
