Help! I lost my tractor beam!

Hello all;

I had the first ship (the one given to you at the start of the game), then bought a new one (a crusader I think, the name escapes me). After flying around a bit I noticed I didn't have a tractor beam; I think when transfering cargo I might have some how sold the tractor beam. I can't find any place that sells them, and buying a new ship doesn't help either. Does anyone know of a way I can get one? Either through a cheat or a some sort of mod or what not.

You can't buy them, you always have one. However, maybe the only things that are there to tractor are things you already have a full compliment of? You can't pick up more than you can store. Only thing I can think of.

Well if you look into your equipment you'll see a "light tractor beam." After I bought the new ship, it wasn't there. Also, I can have empty cargo and it still won't even attempt to pull it in, regardless of what type of item it is, because I simply don't have a tractor beam.

Are you running a mod?

You can go into the files and make sure the ship has a tractor in the goods ini file.

I'm running the Discovery mod v4.82, and that's it.

I didn't find it in the "goods" ini, but in the misc_equip ini, I found a bunch of "tractor" stuff. I'm still reading through the mumbo-jumbo to try and figure this out.

Only thing there, would be to change lootable to "true," but that wouldn't fix the problem I don't think.

in discovery, if you have lost your tractor beam, by an i.d. it does the same thing but online, its used to identify you as well
