Contact with Microsoft

I want to know who has emailed, called, written to, or spoken with a Microsoft employee concerning:
-- a possible FL sequel.
-- an online petition for FL.
-- releasing the Lancers Canon IP rights.
-- releasing the FL source code.
-- creating a community developed commercial sequel to FL for MS.

I'm not going to forward this info directly but a few on IGDA asked for it in regards to a potential fair use case. Someone proving that they've been ignoring us seems to be important. I'll give him a number of successful contact attempts, ignored contact attempts, and rejected requests.

If anyone did manage to talk to someone tell me who and I can follow up on this.

Whats been done with the petition results?
Is anyone actually showing the results to MS?
Has MS contacted anyone?
Does anyone know of anyone who's has contact with MS?

We cannot say they are ignoring us if no one has actually tried to contact them. I was under the impressed some major effort was made here. If this isn't the case then we need to actually make an effort to get in touch with someone.

There are those within Lancers Admins that have talked to MS. For all practical purposes, FL2 is dead in the water.

Note - If you watch various gaming news, it is seen they are more intrested in console games at this time. More money there so the logical choice to go with, after all, they are a business, and in business to make money.

You have not been able to register your game since sometime in 2003 as far as I can remember. Registration was disabled shortly thereafter, and we have had instances of people saying that support sent them to lancers instead...

here it is

Problem with that is we are looking to do a Remake/Expansion/Sequil, not a Re-Release of the original Version.....

I'm willing to talk to MS but I know just calling them up and asking for the rights is pointless. I need to talk to someone with the authority to give us formal permission to use the Lancers Canon. I don't really care if they give us some kind of formal license for a single title or something in writing saying they won't sue. But it needs to be formal enough that we can say legally we're free and clear to use the entire canon.

Like I said, theres also some interest on IGDA in knowing if we've talked to them for justifying a fair use claim. If the admins have talked to MS then we can assume MS "officially" knows about the petition drives, other requests for a sequel, and requests for them to release the FL source code.
