Ripper mines

I've been looking for the Ripper mine for hours now, and still haven't found it. Does anyone know which one of those Outcast Fighters hold the weapons?

It's the fourth from the left, second from the right. Erm, sorry - no Best bet is just to switch to the wreck viewing mode in that area, and then try each and every single one (for the loot).

Obviously watch out for the nomads...

I've already done that. The Nomads killed me on their third attack, though. Perhaps organizing a 4 man search party would be the best option. >_>

ed: link removed for now

does the mines or the missiles worth the money? i'd said no...

They are quite worth the money...mines moreso than missiles, IMHO. Mines cannot be deflected by countermeasures and, properly used, are just as accurate and powerful. They also mount on every ship in the game, which is of use when flying something like a LF- which cannot mount the class 9 Cannonball missiles, but can mount the equally potent Ripper mine launcher.

Then there's the trade lane trick, the guaranteed getaway- drop a mine when you are just passing the trade lane ring on activation. The mine will disable the lane after you have already been whisked away, putting you at the other end of the lane by the time the opposition can cruise to the next ring out.

If only you could set them to remain where you drop them...that would be ever so sweet for bushwacking folks as they enter an area...
